Woodland Whimsy Clipboard
A few years back I went on a trip with two of my best friends to California. It has always been one of my favorite trips. This picture was taken with the 3 of us being silly and crammed into a photo booth. It's such a fun picture so I decided to decorate a clipboard using papers and embellishments from the Woodland Whimsy collection.
The clipboard was pretty easy to put together. I used a couple of papers, mini jewels, felt stickers and ribbon from the collection. Also I created layered flowers using the colored backs of the papers. I added some distressing to the edges of the clipboard to dirty it somewhat. It turned out to be a nice and creative way to show a picture. Also makes a good keepsake gift!

Helpful Tips on Ancestral Scrapbooking:
•KISS…Keep It Super Simple! Ancestral pages are fascinating because they tell a genuine story about a period of history that many who view your pages won’t have personal knowledge of. Let the photos and momentos tell the story without too much clutter interfering. Restrain yourself from over-doing these pages – you’ll find that by just adding a special journal entry that sets the tone for the page, the results will be impressive.
The web offers a wealth of information and resources on learning more about your family connections. Consider visiting these sites to learn more about finding ancestral information: A solid, basic site filled with information on building a family tree, and heritage scrapbooking.
We hope you enjoyed this workshop, and our Ancestral Collection!!

Scrapfest 2009- Mall of America
Scrapfest 2009 was a fabulous experience!
Over 4,000 people attended this annual event, sponsored by Archiver's, the paper crafting retailer based in Minneapolis.
This is the seventh year of this event. Word has certainly spread about the great opportunity. This extraordinary 3-day weekend has a lot to offer scrapbookers, cardcrafters, and just about anyone else who loves paper, stickers and embellishments as much as we do!
We had such fun sharing our new TPC Studio collections with all the folks that turned out at the Mall of America to participate.
We offered four workshops, all of which "sold out" featuring projects made with our new Ancestral and Time to Travel lines.
(project instructions attached)

Time to Travel Frame
After my recent trip to Italy, I decided to paper craft a frame using our new Time to Travel collection which worked perfectly! I started with one paper as the background and simply cut out various imagery from other papers, distressed the edges and decoupaged them onto the frame. For the "Italy" word I covered basic chipboard letters with the back of one of the papers, sanded off the extra and distressed the edges. To add some more dimension, I used the Time to Travel Stamps, Wood Seals and Fabric Buttons.
Materials used:
12x12 Time to Travel Papers, Time to Travel Clear Stamps, Time to Travel Fabric Button Brads, Time to Travel Wood Seals

Ancestral Gate Fold Card
This gate fold card was really quick and easy and used papers and embellishments from our Ancestral Collection. For the base of the card I used our 12x12 Metallic Cover cardstock in Jade, but you could use any coordinating cardstock color for the base. The center flower was created by layering a fabric flower with paper punched flowers, topped off with a pearlized sticker brad. It is also finished off with mini gems in the upper left corner and mini pearls and a rub-on from the Ancestral Collection embellishments.
Materials used:
12x12 Metallic Cover Cardstock in Jade, 12x12 Ancestral Teal Brocade.
12x12 Ancestral Past to Present, 12x12 Ancestral Bird Brocade, 12x12 Ancestral Columns

1974 Ancestral Page
I love Vanessa's Ancestral Collection! I used the papers, ribbons, mini jewels, adhesive brads and rub-ons to create this 8" x 8" page that features a picture of me and my grandfather that was taken when I was little. To write out "1974", first I found a large, chunky font that would be easy to cut out. I then flipped it on my computer, and printed it on the back of the Pocket Watch Brocade paper. Then I simply cut the numbers out and glued them down. To create the flowers, I used flower punches in several different sizes and shapes and then placed a mini jewel or adhesive brad in the center. This page was pretty quick and easy to make -- it only took about 20 minutes!

Paws and Claws Kitten Card
I recently adopted two little kittens to keep my older cat company. I made these quick "kitten announcement" cards to let everyone know of the new additions to the family. I used an orange A7 scallop card from the Paper by the Piece line along with papers and ribbon from Liz's cute Paws and Claws line. For quick accents, I used two adhesive Paws and Claws jewels to the top of the photo. Each card took less than 10 minutes!
