Let's Eat Recipe Box

Hello there! It's sure has been awhile since our last blog post! We've been pretty busy here at work getting ready for the January CHA trade show.  There has been lots of work to get done. One of those many projects we worked on to show at CHA is this cute little recipe box from the Let's Eat™ collection.

The collection has everything you need to make this box. First, I started off with the Let's Eat™ Chipboard Recipe Box. I used the reverse side of Let's Eat™ Placemat paper for the lid and the reverse side of Let's Eat Cook Off for the rest of the box. I cut the paper to fit around the box and glued it down. Once the paper was glued on, I distressed the edges of the box to give it slightly more aged look. I made a band to fit around the box using the reverse side of Let's Eat™ Garden Medley and Let's Eat™ Dish Towel. I then cut out a bracket shape using the reserve side of Let's Eat™ Easy as Pie and distressed it a little. Then I glued it down to the front of the box slightly off centered. Using the same pattern from Let's Eat™ Garden Medley, I cut out letters spelling out the word recipes. I distressed it the same way as I did with everything else and glued them down to the bracket shape. Once that was done I made some flowers using other papers from the collection and finished them off using Let's™ Eat Fabric Buttons for the centers. There you have it! This is a great product that should be used with the Let's Eat™ Recipe Card Dividers and Let's Eat™ Recipe Cards, not shown above.

Memory Lane Treasure Box

This paper crafted box is perfect for storing mementos and trinkets! I used papers and stickers from our new Memory Lane collection and one of our Large Silver Lunch Boxes.

I started out by distressing the Lunch Box. I sanded the edges with a sanding block and then dry brushed them black paint. I then cut pieces of the back side of Memory Lane™'s Family Heirloom paper to the size of the the sides, front and back of the box. I distressed the paper with brown ink and glued them to the box. I cut down corner pieces from Memory Lane™'s Remember When paper and glued them to the box as well. I used stickers from the Memory Lane™ Sticker Sheet as well as objects I cut from the Memory Lane™ Memorabilia paper to decorate the front and back of the box. I finished off the box with ribbons and an ivory tag stamped with the "Keys to the Past" stamp from the Memory Lane™ Cling Stamp panel.

I Like You a Latte

Who says Valentine's cards need to be pink and red with hearts? I made this unconventional card with the idea of making something a little more masculine in mind.

I started out with a piece of Espresso Spectrum Cardstock, and cut it to 6" x 12".  I then folded it so it would be a gatefold card by measuring three inches from the edge on both sides. I punched a 2.5" circle out of what was left of the Espresso Cardstock.

The patterned papers used on the card are the backs of Bon Voyage™ Paris and Reel Me In™ Upstream. I cut two 3" x 2.75" rectangles out of the Paris paper and two 2.75" x 2.75" squares out of the Upstream paper. I distressed the cut papers, Espresso circle and card with Clearly Better™ Chocolate Ink. I glued the Upstream paper on the tops of the card flaps, and the Paris paper on the bottom.

I then used the "tea • coffee • hot chocolate" stamp from our new CafĂ© Mocha™ Rubber Cling stamps, and stamped on both pieces of the blue polka dot paper (the back of Reel Me In™ Upstream), just about an 1/8" from the bottom. I then glued a 2.75" piece of brown ribbon to each flap, where the two papers meet.

I stamped a coffee mug and "I like you a latte" on to the Express circle with Clearly Better™ Chocolate Ink, and I colored it in with a blue pastel. I attached the circle to the left hand flap with two adhesive foam squares.

To finish the card off, I used the "made with love" stamp from our Handmade By Rubber Cling Stamps to the back of the card.
